I was born into apartheid South Africa and saw the injustices of the depraved apartheid regime as I grew up. I was then fortunate enough to travel the world and complete studies abroad. This simply reinforced to me the iniquities of apartheid. As an adult I graduated from Natal University and fought the system. For the rest of the story you need to read my book called The Surfing Lawyer. Check it out in our Shop section. Now in New Zealand surfing in the womens open division as there is no category for veterans or those over 50. I have to compete against girls who are mostly teenagers. I am very excited as I now have a surf coach Bronson Primmer who is 27 years old. He believes he can get me to number one. So do I. I have written my autobiography which you can buy on line. Optimist Sailing World Championships - Napier, 30 Dec 2011 to 10 Jan 2012

The Optimist Sailing World Championships is the most popular yachting event worldwide and it was this year in Napier. With nearly 50 countries participating, around 1,000 international guests will arrive in Hawke's Bay, from just before Christmas 2011 until half way through January 2012.
