The Thirsty Whale is more than a Bar and Restaurant. We can cater to large and small groups for conferences and meetings. The multi venue facility lends itself well to many different types of function.

We can arrange and equipment you may need for your meeting or conference, including stereo and PA systems, whiteboards, flipcharts, screens, lecterns, datashow, overhead projectors and TV & Videos.

We offer a full catering facility, including morning and afternoon tea, water and mints throughout your event and anything from a working lunch to a full 4 course evening meal.

The Thirsty Whale also has the advantage of offering you a unique form of transport for your delegates or colleagues. We own a classic English Double Decker bus. This could be for transport to and from accommodation or simply for a leisurely sight seeing tour around the city or anything you choose.

The four separate area's the Thirsty Whale have to offer are:

The Mezzanine - Overlooks the harbour and accommodates 2 to 50pax
The Harpoon Room - Private deck, own bar and bathroom facilities accommodates 2 to 100pax
The Boiler Room - Large room with canvas linings can accommodate from 30 to 600pax
The Main Bar & Restaurant - Central area for a meet and greet or after meeting drinks, has large deck out front for summer or blazing fire inside for winter.
